Prophetic Directions for 2003

God revealed to Rev Francis Khoo the need to hold on to God's faithfulness in the midst of the impending storms of 2003 with thanksgiving.

As our usual practice, I sought the Lord for a word for the upcoming year. As I prayed, fasted and meditated upon His Word, the Holy Spirit led me to Psalm 107:20-32. As I read the same over and over again, the Holy Spirit began to stir in my heart, to bring me into a revelation.

The Word, “God is going to command and raise up the stormy winds in 2003” became alive within me.  This time, the magnitude of the stormy winds would be even greater than in 2002.  In fact it is going to be so great that even the hearts of the seasoned believer, who thought they had already seen the worst storms, “their souls are melted because of trouble”.   They will reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at wit's end!

Is there then no hope? Is there no way out? No, the solution is to cry out unto the Lord.  However, this cry will not be one of “Help me God!” but a cry of thanksgiving that is birthed out of a relationship.  A deep moan that will be preceded by the words “ABBA FATHER”.  The Word God gave me was clear, “tell them to prove me in their thanksgiving”.   The Word was not to test Him, but to “prove” Him.  Not to test whether it is right or wrong, but a confident action that will arise because you know that what you believe in is RIGHT and TRUE! It is a word to prove God by believing Him and doing what He wants us to do, to do even as it is established that He is faithful and true and will accomplish what He has said.

The key he showed me is in the words of verse 21 and repeated in the words of verse 31.  This is to be coupled with the twining words of verses 22 and 32.

The challenges for 2003 will be the same as the one for 2002.  The difference will be a quickening process and an increase in the magnitude of problems.  The key is to focus on Jesus.  Verse 20 reminds us that God has already sent His Word for healing and deliverance.  All that needs to be done has been done.  It is now the time of John 1:12, for us to learn how to put ourselves into a position to receive him, so that we can take back what is ours (c.f.  Matthew 11:12).  It is a time to be more than a conqueror in Him and to walk by faith in His Victory! The activation is in the understanding of “eternal life” in this life-time.  In John 17:3, Jesus uses the word “KNOW”!

God's assurance of a “future and a hope” is Jeremiah 29:11 continues to be ours, because He is our future and our hope.
