Covenant Vision Christian Mission

“But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?”
James 2:10
Do you know that while the river Jordan is full of life, it flows into a basin which is the Dead Sea? If we keep receiving without giving, that's what we will soon become – a lifeless basin of waste!
In order to give each person an outlet for him to become a doer of the word and to consolidate Covenant Vision's effort in the mission field, the Covenant Vision Christian Mission was formed. CVCM was registered as a religious society on March 25, 2000. The institutionalizing of the mission-focused effort will provide a structured platform for service. It was intended as to serve as the conduit for Christians to truly act out their faith.
The avenues of service are plenty. One can choose from going on a mission afar such as to Bangladesh , or to one that is closer to home such as Batam. Or you may elect to demonstrate your love for your neighbor by paying a visit to the aged, the orphans, or the sick in hospitals. Oh, if you are shy to work with people, then how about praying for them instead? There is always room for one more intercessor at any of the numerous regular “Touch Jesus – He heals” services. Or are you grieved by the homeless and moved to do something for them? Yes, even in our blessed nation of Singapore !
Singapore is richly blessed indeed. We are recipients of much economic gains. But this comes at a price – a high one indeed. As a rich people, we have virtually everything and are short of nothing except the very precious commodity called TIME. Yes, it is so much easier to write a check than to give of our time to serve. It is good to give of one's wealth. But it is even better to be able to also give of one's time.
Yes, it is so much easier to write a cheque than to give of our time to serve.
By institutionalizing CVCM, we want to provide the opportunity for each member to give of his or her best in time and money. We want to underline the importance of true service and not just lip service. Becoming a member is only the first step – a step of faith to show that we truly want to commit ourselves to God. It is our hope that this society will prosper not just in strength but more importantly, in quality. That members will find sufficient choices where they can dedicate their talents to act out their faith. We challenge each one of you to take up your cross daily and walk your talk!
