No Pelvic Kidney & No Operation

PDFPrintEmail

When I was 5 months pregnant, our baby was diagnosed as possibly having a pelvic kidney. In the initial scans, doctors could not locate her right kidney where they were supposed to be and believed that her right kidney was growing near her pelvic area. They also informed us that once the baby was born, an operation had to be performed to remove this non-functional kidney.

When I heard that, I thought "not again!" Our first child had to go through a heart operation when he was only 2 months old and I didn't want my second child to have to go through the same ordeal. I could not imagine having to see her get wheeled into the operating theatre and the feeling of being helpless. Both my husband and I were extremely emotional and we couldn't bring ourselves to even talk about our baby's condition.

My colleague Jasmine encouraged me to pray and believe that my child would be a healthy, happy child. She brought us to the Touch Jesus, He Heals! Healing service and Rev Francis, Rev Henson and the sisters there prayed for us. We continued to come for the services month after month.

In the months leading up to the birth, I braced myself for the impending operation. When our daughter Amira was born, the doctors told us that Amira had one healthy, functional kidney! Not only did she not have a pelvic kidney, Amira did not have to go through an operation at all! To us, it was a miracle!

Through this, our lives have been tremendously changed. I cannot explain how blessed and happy we feel. Every time we go through a situation, God brings godly friends and prayer warriors to rally around us. Not only were there people praying for us here in Singapore, my mother also got her church in Philippines to pray. The prayers really gave us the confidence and strength to overcome the odds. Praise the Lord!
