During Christmas 2008, I suddenly lost my hearing completely in one ear. When I went to the hospital, they diagnosed that I had a nose tumour. They couldn't even put the scope through my nostril. I went for a biopsy and other tests such as the MRI. The doctors told me I had to go for surgery but there was one problem. I am allergic to anesthetic. So the doctors had to figure out how I was going to undergo the operation.
Throughout that period, my family was very frustrated with me because I could not hear at all. It was so bad that I didn't even go out during Chinese New Year.
In February 2009, my mother brought me to Covenant Vision for the healing service. I was actually very skeptical about it. I am a person who doesn't believe things easily. During worship as I was praying, I felt a heavy pressure on my head like there was a hand on my head. The feeling was amazing! It was as though I had a current suddenly running through my body.
At that very moment, I surrendered everything to God. Not only was I surrendering my physical illness, I was surrendering my life to Him. I am a single mom with three children and at that time, my youngest son was only 7 years old. I was scared. Who would take care of my children? I prayed "Father, please save me".
As I prayed that, something amazing happened! I felt recharged and had a great sense of comfort knowing that I was going to be fine. That feeling was indescribable – beyond amazing! I went up for prayer and Rev Francis Khoo prayed for me. In the days following that, I regained my hearing totally! Praise God!
Three weeks after the healing service, I went back to the hospital for a second biopsy and to confirm my surgery date. This time, they were able to get the scope through my nostril! Better still, the results of the first round of tests were overturned! What was initially diagnosed as a tumour, the doctor now said was only a growth. It was as though the tests were done on two different people! My doctor could not believe it and had two other consultants confirm the result. In fact, the consultants asked if the initial result was wrong, but my doctor said the first test was correct because at that time, the tumour was so big the scope couldn't even go through the nostril. I truly believe I was healed!
About 2 months ago this year, I discovered another growth on my face. This growth, which presented itself on my right cheek was so huge that I had to tilt my head to the left. It was painful and uncomfortable. The doctor referred me to a specialist and told me I had to go for surgery. I actually told the doctor I would not go for surgery because I believe my Father in Heaven is the greatest doctor of all. He had healed me the first time round, He will heal me again.
A member of my family actually offered to do black magic on me for healing. That day I told him I was sticking to the covenant I have with my God. I would rather be deaf, blind, dumb, crippled or disfigured than to forsake my God. I told this family member NOT to do that.
The very next day, the growth subsided by half! My parents were so amazed at the result. I continued to proclaim God's promises and within a few days, the swelling completely subsided. I went back to the specialist and they couldn't find anything! Nothing at all! God had healed me again!
My life has completely changed. I live for God and my prayer always is that God's will be done. Even though I am medically unfit for work, I trust God for provision. Even though I am partially blind in both eyes because of tunnel vision, I praise God because I can live for Him and help others. God is awesome! Our Heavenly Father is the greatest doctor of all. I am grateful and thank God for Covenant Vision and Rev Francis Khoo for helping people understand God's healing power.
