On 17 January 2009, two Christian friends brought me to Covenant Vision Christian Church for the "Touch Jesus, He Heals" healing service with Rev Francis Khoo. Being a very young Christian, it was the first time I went to a healing service. During the healing service, I submitted my health condition, Thyroid Disease, to the Lord, trusting He will heal me.
After being on medication for a whole month, I went for a check-up in March 2009. The results came out negatively. I was still suffering from Thyroid disease. I was discouraged by the report and asked why the Lord did not heal me. Nevertheless, I still trusted the Lord and continued with the medication given.
I went back again for another check-up in April 2009. Again, the results came out negatively. I still had the disease. This time I questioned whether have I been a good servant of the Lord? Why did the Lord not heal His servant? More and more questions came into my mind. But deep down inside, I still trusted that the Lord would heal me.
This time, the results from the check-up in May 2009 was finally positive! Praise God and I rejoiced. However the doctor told me that positive results did not mean I had fully recovered. He suggested coming back in June for the next check-up. I wasn't given any medications. Praise the Lord. l really hate eating medication because I think it is harmful to my body.
In June, I went for the follow-up check-up. I had been praying that God would heal me completely even without taking any medication. True enough, the report was again positive! Praise the Lord for His healing! The doctor even congratulated me but still I give the credit to the Lord my healer.
The doctor scheduled me for a check-up 3 months later. But I truly believe God has won the battle for me. God is a living God and nothing is impossible with Him. The parable of the persistent widow in Luke 18 shows we should always pray and not to give up. My prayers have been answered. Amen!
