Double Blessings in a Week!

PDFPrintEmail

God helped us to find a house in Switzerland last week! God is good and faithful to meet our needs.

My husband has been posted to Zurich for 2 years and we've already been here for a month now. We are currently staying in a temporary apartment and had been given 2 months to look for a permanent house to rent and it's amazing how we got the house in less than a month.

In Switzerland, it is very difficult to rent an apartment. Landlords and agencies get to pick and choose their tenants as there can easily be up to 50 applications per house. One house we visited even had up to 100 couples viewing it. Even 10 applications means a tenth chance that you'll get the house. And average time to get a house is 2 months. We got it in 3 weeks!!

We had applied for this house 2 weeks ago-a decent size (70 + square metres) with nice surroundings and a 10 minute walk from the train station. And it's one of the cheapest in the market for that size and location in the town of Uster. It was really God's favour and grace because our application had been rejected at first-- we were kind of prepared for it as we were among the last few to apply. 10 or more couples applied for the flat before us but the person who was offered the apartment last week changed his mind and decided not to take it!

Rewind back a little......

We had gone to see another flat 1 week after our application for the Uster house was initially rejected and were excited about it. Though it didn't really have a nice view (facing a garage which had a huge roof covered in algae and moss), we were the second ones to apply, so we thought we had a very good chance. The next morning, my agent was told that it had been leased out already! But the Uster house was back on the market since the person being offered had changed his mind. And since we had called to apply twice already (it so happened that both houses are under the same agency), they decided to just give the house to us. What perfect timing and favour from God! They could have easily given the house to someone else on the long waiting list, especially since we were one of the last few to apply!

And praise God again!  Double blessings form God! Yesterday, we managed to rent out our apartment in Singapore at the price we asked God for. We specifically told him our desires and needs and he met every one of them. The house was first put on the market about a month ago and although there were various offers, they didn't match up to our specific requests. I started to be anxious but God kept reminding me not to be. Philippians 4:6 Be anxious for  nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving , let your requests be made known to God: And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus!

And indeed God is faithful and greatly to be praised!!! Thanks to the pastors, leaders and members of Covenant Vision for your support and prayers. God bless you richly.
