One example was during the SARS period in the year 2003. I went to the National Dental Centre (NDC) for an appointment. I had been going to NDC since Nov 2000 and it was a very familiar place. Not only did I have diarrhoea 2 to 3 times the day before the appointment, but also twice on that day itself. The whole procedure of queuing up and going through the thermal scans for a temperature check made me more nervous. First scan for temperature – high. I was told to sit down, drink some water and waited for about 5 to 10 minutes. They took my temperature again – still high. I had to wait for yet another 5 or 10 minutes. They took my temperature yet again – still high. I had to tell them it was no use. The temperature was not going to come down. I was not having a fever. I was just nervous!

During one of the Sunday Services in mid 2009, Rev Francis suggested that I read the Bible as a storybook. I took his advice. Gradually, I began obeying the instructions in the Bible. I signed up for CVSOM's Certificate in Practical Christian Ministry in 2010 and was doing my assignment for the module 'The Power of The Word' on 5 May 2010 – Healing Power of the Word. I came across Exodus 15:26 and it dawned on me that I didn't have any symptoms of diarrhoea when I was taking the exams, working on course assignments and even during a practicum test for a course in Pre-School Teaching in 2009/2010 I was attending. I no longer had any physical reaction to the nervousness and without me knowing, I was healed! I thank and praise God!

On another assignment for the module 'Heal the Sick', I was reminded again of what Jesus had done for me. 1 Peter 2:24 tells us that He himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds we have been healed. Indeed, there is POWER in His Word and I give all glory to God!
