Only God Could Have Done it
Written by Wendy Lim
I was rather enthusiastic when I heard about CVCC starting Discipleship Groups (DG). However, after learning about the commitment, I was faced with huge dilemma, as it was set within my most crucial period of this year.
As a final year music student, I was already struggling between meeting deadlines of academic work, practicing at least three to six hours a day for my graduation recital, teaching violin part time, and attending church activities. I asked God, how can I add DG to my hectic schedule?!
As I prayed about this, God assured me that He will make a way for me, and that it was important for me to join DG so that I could experience Him in this crucial season. That was enough to convince me to obey Him, so I joined a DG.
PSLE Turnaround

My daughter Grace sat for her Primary School Leaving Examinations last year (PSLE). Her results were good and we would like to give thanks to God for that.
Actually, her prelim results were not so good. Her T-score was 190, which was worrying. Sally and myself did what we could as parents and guided her and taught her as best we could. We didn't expect she would do so much better in the actual PSLE.
Studying Smart in God

I am aware that to score an A1 for the Chinese 'O' levels would be extremely difficult and it requires studying VERY VERY VERY hard. That is if I were to attempt the paper on my own accord and with my own wisdom. However, in God, I can study smart. Truly, my God is not only proficient in English but His Chinese is also of A1 standard; He is indeed omnipotent and omniscient.
Power of the Word

For a very long time since I was young, I would have diarrhoea whenever I was scared or going through something new. Like a physical reaction to my nervousness, I would have diarrhoea 2 to 3 times a day before and on the very day of the event. It could be seeing my regular doctor, dentist, having a test, exam or an interview. Once the appointment or event was over, it stopped. Only my family knew about my condition.
Obedience moves the hand of God
I attend Covenant Vision Prayer Powerhouse (PPH) quite often and on a particular Monday I was deciding if I should go for PPH. I was feeling quite tired after work and was thinking of going to visit my father-in-law who was in hospital having undergone a heart operation. According to my husband, my father-in-law was supposed to stay in the hospital for one week for further observation. That meant that I had one week to visit him.
The spirit was willing, but the flesh was weak. But I believed that if I was faithful to God, God would honour the time I give up for Him and honour me. I also believe that when I do God's work, my household is looked after by God as well. That's why I decided to go for PPH on that day. I also wanted to lift my father-in-law up in prayer as we pray for healing during the service.
