I was with my last job for 4 years. I really loved my job and worked hard to upgrade myself. During the course of my job there, I was promoted various times. Unfortunately, the company had to close down and they had to let me go.
Looking for a job proved to be very difficult. I am single with only a secondary 2 education and the job market was very competitive. I was jobless for 16 months. During this time, I lost faith in God and I had given up hope and confidence in Him. But He was constantly reaching out to me.
I attended a service at Covenant Vision and when I went up to pray, Rev Francis gave me a word, "You are not alone and He is with you." I remembered that a couple of years back, when I went for a Touch Jesus, He Heals! Service at Acts Centre, Rev Francis had given me the exact same word that I was not alone and He was with me. That really uplifted me.
One Sunday when I was in Orchard, something dropped into my mind and I was reminded that there is a church at Marriot Hotel and I went to attend. Throughout the service, I felt God speaking to me and after the service, the Pastor laid hands and prayed for me and for my job situation.
The next day, I received an SMS from a well-known International Hotel & Resort chain about a job convention with many vacancies. To be honest, I didn't have high hopes because I had gone for such job conventions and had prepared many resumes, but it was like I was not even given a decent chance. The interviews were only about 5 minutes long and competition at these conventions was very great.
But since I had been prayed for, I decided to go for this convention. It was indeed God's divine appointment. When I was there the HR Director just happened to be sitting near me. I spoke to him and he gave me his name card and asked me to send my resume directly to him. Then he called me for an interview, during which he told me of a secretary post that had come up. I didn't ask for the secretary post because the competition was very great and I didn't expect I would be selected, so I told him I could do housekeeping or be a telephone operator. Following that, I got a call from the engineering department head that needed the secretary. I went for the interview with him and it went smoothly. They then called me to tell me that I got the secretary job. Praise God!
The Lord opened the door for me and He really met my heart's desires. More than that, God went beyond and gave me more than I had asked for with a 5-day work week, good income with lunch and transport provided. It was over and above my expectations.
Ultimately, God knows everything and He gives us the best. I want to thank God for His favour and His love.
