Three years ago, my husband and I knew from our church bulletin that Rev Francis Khoo from Covenant Vision was conducting a healing service in our sister church in Acts Centre. We felt convicted by the Holy Spirit to attend the service for healing of our infertility as we had been waiting and praying for a baby for nearly four years without any breakthrough nor answer from God.
During the healing service, Rev Francis requested for those who needed prayer to step out. Immediately, my husband and I went forward without any hesitation. An amazing thing happened when Rev Francis came to us and asked us a few questions. It was as if he already knew what we wanted to be prayed for, even before we could tell him our prayer and healing needs.
Standing in front of him, I knew immediately that God had used this mighty servant of His to speak words of healing and blessings upon us. We knew God had also used Rev Francis to further affirm in our hearts that we will have our own children from God.
After the service, we were further blessed by Covenant Vision staff Sis Marianne, who not only sent us words of encouragement but also sent us Covenant Vision's Testimony Newsletter. That issue, called the "Baby Edition", was filled with testimonies of couples who had gone through the same trials we were going through in trying to have a baby.
Since that day of the healing service, our faith in God had risen to new levels. Though we went by each year for the next three years without an answer from God, it was not the same for us. I no longer question God as to why I am still barren. My husband also firmly held on to the promise that God had given to us through Rev Francis.
On 28 December 2009, just 3 days after Christmas, I tested positive and was pregnant! You can imagine the incredible joy and excitement that my husband and I felt at that moment. We marvel at the wonders of God's provision, blessings and His answer to our prayers after nearly 7 years of our waiting for a child. It is no coincidence that 7 in the bible means the completion of God's works. Indeed, we firmly believe that our waiting was not without reasons and God's timing is always perfect. The waiting was purposeful as God drew us closer to Him and to one another. We learnt many precious spiritual lessons. One of the lessons is that God is always faithful and true to His words – He always does what He says. When He says something, we can have the complete assurance that it will be done.
We want to give all thanks and praise to our faithful and everlasting God and to Rev Francis and Sis Marianne for making a difference in our spiritual journey in waiting for a child.
