The planning went on and the stage was set for a 3-day Pastors' Conference, a 3-day training program for youth teachers and workers, as well as 3 nights of Touch Jesus He Heals! crusades. Invitations to pastors in Davao City and the surrounding villages went out and the response was overwhelming. In faith Covenant Vision had agreed to sponsor the pastors coming in to Davao City , and God showed that truly, He is Jehovah Jireh. Finances came in, the team was lined up, the premises (Christ for all Nations Cathedral) was secured and the publicity was being handled by our partners in Davao City . Even before we left, we had reports that some 420 pastors, leaders and church workers from the city and neighbouring provinces had signed up for the conference.

The agenda that we had drawn up included day seminars for the pastors and church workers, and Touch Jesus He Heals! crusades at night. Arrangements were also made to have the nightly crusades broadcast on TV – Channel 48 on the same night.

The Pastors' Conference

6 speakers were lined up, namely Bro Francis, Rev Wilfred Png, Bro Andrew Teo, Bro Samuel Sim, Pastor Mahen, and Pastor Kelvin Lim. The speakers prayed and looked toward God for a word for the Pastors in Davao City . Throughout the 3 days, teachings that were given poked and tugged at the hearts of the pastors. Messages of power, authority, financial freedom, God's love, revival, anointing, effective servanthood, God's call for repentance, and God's mercy were powerfully released to the pastors in obedience.

Not all 420 registrants turned up, for one reason or another, but we were encouraged to see new faces appearing as more people heard about the conference. The teachings were very well received and many were touched. Many responded to the alter calls and a tremendous time of repentance followed during the times of ministry with much tears flowing freely. At the conclusion of the 3rd day, the pastors and church workers were fired-up for God and trusting God for a revival in their churches.

Training Program for Youth Teachers and Workers

“But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid the; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” Matt 19:14

While the pastors' conference was in session, Sister Christina Chang was also conducting workshops for youth teachers and workers. Having more than 10 years of experience in the children's ministry, she shared not only on the foundations and the need for passion as a Sunday school teacher, she also gave them practical lessons in songs and games that they could bring back with them. Some from the CVC ministry team were also blessed by her sharing.

Touch Jesus He Heals!

 “And the whole multitude sought to touch Him, for power went out from Him and healed them all.” -Luke 6:19

‘The Now Faith', ‘The Persistent Faith', and ‘The Receiving Faith'. 3 different messages on the 1 true and living God who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we could ask or imagine. God is truly Jehovah Rapha. We saw many come to the alters to receive the healing that God had prepared for them. Physical healing, financial healing, emotional healing, and healing of relationships and marriages were among the requests we received for prayer. Under the anointing, Bro Francis was led to call a man with crutches to come forward. He did and left walking without the crutches. Praise God for His faithfulness!

Bro Francis not only delivered the messages to a live congregation, but over the airwaves as well. And we saw attendances growing nightly as the news spread. The 3 nights were broadcast over Channel 48 in Davao City . There were people who watched the program and were touched. One of those who came on the third night is a politician. He told us that he has diabetes, and had watched the rallies on the past 2 nights on Television. Finally he was convicted to come, and even came onto the stage. Many lives were touched and faith abound tremendously. Glory to God!

God's Bigger Plan

“He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.” - Luke 9:2

We truly serve a limitless God. Although plans were made only for the conference, God showed us that He had even BIGGER plans. The ministry team received invitations to minister at 2 schools, Teofilo Fernandez National High School and Deeper Life School. Bro Francis sent forth the younger members of the team to minister at the first school. With ‘fear and trembling', this ministry team comprising of Sis Trisha, Bro Jonathan and Sis Valerie took the step of faith to reach out to the youth. The message that God gave was relevant and touched the lives of the kids there. Many came forth for prayer and God moved tremendously in their midst.

A larger team comprising of Sis Trisha, Bro Jonathan, Sis Valerie, Sis Katherine and Sis Christina were sent to the second school, Deeper Life School . Once again, God showed His love for the Children through the preaching of His word and many answered the call for salvation. Many came forth for prayer and God spoke to the hearts of them who stepped forward to seek Him. Words of knowledge were released to groups of children and teenagers, and there was weeping as the anointing of God fell. The ministry extended beyond the children but to the teachers as well. God spoke to the hearts of the teachers and they too came forward for prayer. God is truly doing a marvelous work in the lives of the children and youth in Davao City and we are glad that we were given the opportunity to share God's love with them.

God's bigger plan also covered the area of multimedia. Bro Francis was invited to speak live over radio and Sis Trisha was sent to share over live television. Once again, God proved faithful and He steered the messages and sharing in such a way that it was relevant to the Philippines community. Glory be to God!

The power of multimedia as a form of mass communication was driven home to us during the trip. The Lord has already put this on our hearts, and we have just gone broadband recently. We are presently exploring how to use the internet to bring to a larger audience the various teaching, training and equipping modules and programs used in our CVC School of Biblical Studies and our CVC School of Ministry. But during our time in Davao City , the Lord has expanded our vision to by bringing a fresh understanding of how radio and television, when effectively used, is able to reach masses all over the world via satellite.

Although CVC is already on the air through our partnership with Far East Broadcasting Associates ( FEBA ), and reaching out to parts of Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore through radio broadcast, however looking at what is being done in Davao City, where there is less control from the government and more freedom and ease in getting licenses, we have come to realise that we are only just experiencing and touching the tip of the iceberg in what we are doing in this area. This trip however not only opened and extended our understanding, but also built bridges for the start of a Radio and TV ministry that could cover a more global dimension. We were able to dialogue with owners of TV Channels and radio stations, who had been touched by our teachings and the time we had spent Davoa City and already we are looking at recording and editing Christian teaching programs in Singapore and then sending it to Davao City to be aired.. Truly, we serve a limitless God!

The day before we came home, the team was invited by the owner of the Deeper Life Foundation Inc., Pastor Dic G. Togonon to visit his durian plantation and poultry farm. We were blessed with the warm hospitality extended by his family. At the plantation, we ministered to the workers and their children. There's no stopping when you're fired-up for God, and when God presented the opportunity to share His love, we were all blessed that we took hold of it.

God's Prevision

Even before we left for the ministry trip to the Philippines , God had revealed His purpose for Davao City and for the ministry team through visions to various people who were praying for the trip.

God showed visions to 2 separate sisters in Kuala Lumpur that we would be ministering to many children. Though this was not part of the initial program for the trip, the visions came to pass when the doors opened for the team to minister in the 2 schools.

God also showed a brother in Kuala Lumpur a vision of oil being poured out. Once again, we saw the power of God's anointing fall, especially on the 3 rd night of the crusades.

Another vision was of multitudes of people bowing to one man, but as we ministered, many turned to the light. This was confirmed by reports from the pastors in Davao City of the various cults, many of then worshiping a male leader. God is turning them back to the Light of the World, that is Jesus Christ!

At one of the prayer meetings before the trip, God showed one of our ministry team members a vision of Davao City being fortified by large black walls, and as we ministered. angels came in and broke the walls with large hammers. We believe that this work that God is doing does not stop here. He has shown and He will continue to tear the walls of the evil one down.
