For the third time in three years, Bro Francis Khoo found himself leading a team of 14 people to Mauritius . The team consisted of Bro Francis himself, Sis Shirley, Pastor Henry, Bro Andrew, Bro Henson, Sis Trisha, Bro James, Sis Rachel, Sis Jill, Sis Susan, Bro Samuel, Sis Rita, Sis Vanessa as well as Pastor Martin from Malaysia . More than half of the team had been to Mauritius before but for the newbies (Susan, Samuel, Rita, Vanessa and Martin), this was an experience they were never going to forget.
In Anticipation
We had no qualms that God had planned for us to be part of the revival in Mauritius . Back in 2004, God had told Bro Francis that revival was going to happen in Mauritius . The question He posed was whether he (Bro Francis) wanted to be a part of it. Bro Francis' positive answer to that question was the driving force behind what was to become not just a one-time trip, but a partnership between the Anglican Diocese and Covenant Vision Ministry here in Singapore . As a ministry, we have never looked back since.
Even before we took off from Singapore Changi Airport , the brethren in Mauritius began organizing and publicising the 3-day Catch the Anointing Conference and Arise Shine Youth Conference , the youth Praise Explosion Evangelistic Concert , the 3-nights of Touch Jesus, He Heals! Healing Rallies , and the pulpit ministry for 8 of the team members on the Sunday morning. Both the Mauritian and Singapore teams, though thousands of miles apart, were joined in the same vision to see Jesus lifted high, and all men drawn to Him. Every one of us could see God's perfect orchestration of events the moment we set foot on Mauritian soil.
Catch the Anointing & Arise Shine Youth Conferences
The hectic program began with the day conferences. Over the 3 days, a few hundred people packed into the main hall of St. Paul's church, Plaines Verde. Bro Francis kicked off the teachings, followed by Pastor Henry, Bro Andrew, Bro Samuel and Bro Henson. Concurrently, the youth track saw about 100-odd youth receiving teachings on the Power of Identity, Purpose, Relationships, Words and Godliness. Speakers included Bro Henson, Bro Andrew, Sis Trisha, Bro Samuel and Pastor Martin.
We sensed such a hunger in the lives of the conference attendees. Seeing them fervently taking down notes and nodding in agreement spurred us on despite our physical tiredness. As speakers, we were blessed when people came up to us to tell us that the messages had touched their lives. During a time of reflection after the conference, some of the team members shared how God had steered the direction of the message even in the midst of preparation.
After the final session of the conference, Bro Francis headed a session of impartation. After explaining the biblical principles of impartation of the anointing, he prayed for each person individually. We saw God move powerfully as Bro Francis, together with Pastor Eric Ma Fat, laid hands on each person, including the youth. Many received a touch from God and were either moved to tears or lying on the floor. Indeed, God's power was manifested there.
Praise Explosion Youth Concert
The Praise Explosion Youth Concert was held on Thursday night (3rd Aug). Some of the CVC team members were involved in the worship for the night itself. Though we were technically no longer youths, we joined in the jumping and dancing. Our staminas were tested to the limit, but in our spirits, we were truly praising God.
The program included songs, testimonies, dance items and the preaching of the word by Bro Francis. We were particularly touched by the youths' testimonies of how God had revealed Himself in their lives and in the lives of their families. God had truly exploded the Youth Ministry at St. Paul 's church. Non-existent one year ago, the ministry now boasts more than 100 youth.
On the night itself, we saw hundreds of youth packed into the hall. There was only standing space left, and people who couldn't fit in the main hall had to sit outside under the tent that was built onsite for the overflow. The attendance and the ministry that followed boosted our spirits. It was to us, and the Mauritian youth team as well, an endorsement from God.
Touch Jesus, He Heals! Healing Rallies
Each night, hundreds flocked to St Paul 's Church for the Touch Jesus, He Heals! Healing rallies. Publicity posters and flyers were sent out weeks before the meetings and from the masses of people who came, we knew that God had multiplied the effects of the publicity. As a team we believe in divine appointment and had no doubt that God had a purpose in bringing each person that came for the rallies.
Even during intercession each night before the meetings, we felt an awesomeness of God in the hotel room. On the first night of prayer, we specifically claimed salvation and asked for miracles to abound during the meetings. God is ALWAYS faithful, and truly He answers prayers. St. Paul 's church recorded a whopping 740+ salvations over the 3 nights! Not only that, the team reported more salvations during ministry. Praise the Lord!
We heard many testimonies of lives changed since we came the last 2 years. A couple who could not have children for many years went on stage with a lovely baby girl and testified of God's miracle. Another lady gave God Glory for healing her of lupus. Yet another shared about how she had a growth on her face and had to operate; but when we woke up one day, the growth completely disappeared!

We were especially encouraged by the testimony of Brother Patrick, a Mauritian brother who came to Singapore for treatment of cancer a couple of months back. Pastor Eric Ma Fat had urged him to see Bro Francis when he came and through ministry he trusted in God and stood on the promise that God would heal him. He flew back to Mauritius on the 5 th of August and stood on stage on the final night of the rallies to testified that the doctors not only found no trace of cancer, but they saw scars on his lungs. He knew that God had supernaturally operated on him and taken out all the cancer cells!
We saw many instant healings as well. One lady who came with a paralysed hand received God's healing and raised it with no difficulty! Another lady with a disease called Chikungunya , a disease that had stiffened all her joints, testified that after prayer, she could move all her fingers! People who came with walking sticks left without them! Many who came with headaches said they had pains no more! God was seriously at work and as a ministry team, we could only marvel that God had confirmed the preaching of His word with signs and wonders! Hallelujah!!!
Sunday Services
As per previous years, the team was split up on Sunday morning and scheduled to preach at 7 different churches. Having gotten past the logistical nightmares of pick-ups and ensuring each member had something to eat before heading off (some as early as 6.15am), God once again moved in His power! When the team came back together the afternoon, all we could hear was that God had used each person for His Glory! Sis Susan's team, who went to St. Marks reported that they did everything from deliverance to house blessings. For them, it was a day of victory! Pastor Martin, who went to another church, reported that people were healed instantly when he prayed for them! God did so much… if we recorded everything, one webpage would not be enough.
Labours of Love
Each time we go back to Mauritius as a team, we feel like we're going home. We have not just formed working relationships, but true friendships that we know would stand strong going forward. We saw Jesus in every face and recognised God's trademark of love stamped on everything from the food served to the warm embraces.
We want to especially thank Archbishop Ian & Kamala, Archdeacon James & Doreen, Pastor Paul & Noellee, Pastor Eric & Jacqueline, Pastor Teddy & Mary, Pastor Steve & Priya, Bro Jean, the whole worship team led by Sis Jennifer Ah-Kion, the whole dance ministry led by Sis Francoise, the youth ministry worship team led by Bro John Lee, the translators (incl. Bro Steven, Bro Philip), Sis Cindy, Bro Michael, Sis Jennifer Chan-Too, Bro Christian, Bro Michel, and all who we missed out. We also want to thank all those who were praying in Singapore while we were away. Special thanks to Marianne who was holding the fort back in CVC. We know that your labours of love were certainly not in vain.
FInally...
Having come back to Singapore (& Malaysia ), we have not been able to stop talking and sharing about what God had done in Mauritius . We are humbled that God chose us to be part of the ministry and revival in Mauritius . We are confident that the Lord who began a good work there will be faithful to complete it in Christ Jesus (Phil 1:6).
Praise the Lord!!!
