TransforNation - 9 August 2009

“if my people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins and heal their land.”
2 Chronicles 7:14

Transformetion_5.jpgThe decision to hold TransforNation was definitely God-inspired. When the Pastoral team came together to choose a date for the Tranformetion weekend, not only were they led to hold it on the National Day weekend, they felt the need to set aside one session specially to pray for our Nation of Singapore. With that, the Prayer Praise and Worship service to be held at Parkroyal on Beach Road was birthed.

TransforNation: Transforming our Nation through Prayer Praise and Worship. That was what we set out to do and on the night of 9th August 2009, as the rest of Singapore had their eyes on the floating platform at Marina bay, we had our eyes fixed on Jesus. And by the grace of God, we set off Spiritual fireworks in the heavenlies.

From the start, the main focus of the service was prayer. ITransformetion_14.jpgn a prophetic act led by Rev Francis, all the pastors from various churches in Singapore knelt on stage and asked God for forgiveness for the sins of the Nation and for the Church. Though they were a representation of the various denominations of the church, they stood together as ONE united Church of Jesus Christ.

As a congregation, we prayed to reclaim the seven mountains of Culture in Singapore. We had representatives praying for Arts & Entertainment, Religion, Family, Business, Media, Education and Government. As they bound, loosed and claimed in the natural, we were all believing that it was so in heaven as well (Matt 18:18). What an awesome time it was.

Transformetion_8.jpgThe night unfolded like a perfect tapestry of prayer interwoven with praise and worship. The worship team led by Ps George Gunter led the 200 strong (number to be verified) congregation in four segments of worship. We sang songs lifting the name of Jesus high, humbling ourselves before God, answering the call to stand in the gap for our Nation, and receiving the promise of God’s faithfulness to heal our land. It was truly a magnificent time of worship. Most of the songs were familiar and as each lyric was raised to God, there was such a sincere desire to see our Nation turned back to God. It felt like all of us, just like Queen Esther, were brought together for such a time as this. Tears were shed, hands were raised, knees were bowed and hearts poured out. And God responded with a tangible wave of His anointing. It was truly a glorious two and a half hours.

Transformetion_9.jpgBy the end of the service, there was an assurance that we had done something in the heavenlies. And even now, one week after the service, that still holds true in our hearts. Our prayer is that each person who attended TransforNation would continue to intercede for the Nation of Singapore. We were called to be the Antioch of Asia and it is high time we as a people rise up to answer the call. And as we do, God is able to do exceedingly abundantly, above all we could ask or imagine, according to the power that works within us. Hallelujah!
